Events series Bertalanffy Lecture Series at COS

The Bertalanffy Lecture Series was installed with the aim to provide a better understanding of integrative approaches in systems oriented biology both to pupils from Heidelberg and to scientists on campus. The lecture series is a project supported by the Klaus-Tschira Foundation and takes place twice a year.

For previous lectures in this series Alfonso Martinez-Arias (Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge, UK), Enrico Coen (Cell & Developmental Biology, John Innes Centre, UK), Russell Foster (Neuroscience, Brasenose College University of Oxford), Hannah Monyer (Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg/DKFZ), Benjamin Prud'homme (Institut de Biologie du Développement de Marseille-Luminy), Andreas Trump (DKFZ, Heidelberg), Martin Wikleski (MPI für Ornithologie, "Vogelwarte Raddolfzell"), Alejandro Sánchez Alvarado (Howard Hughes Medical Institute & Stowers Institute for Medical Research), Ottoline Leyser (Sainsbury Laboratory, University of Cambridge), Marcos Gonzalez-Gaitan (Department of Biochemistry, University of Geneva), Henrik Kaessmann (Zentrum für Molekulare Biologie, Universität Heidelberg), Miguel L. Allende (Center for Genome Regulation, Universidad de Chile), Kristin Tessmar-Raible (MFPL/Centre(VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology, Ghent University) came to COS Heidelberg. for Molecular Biology/ Platform Rhythms of Life, University of Vienna) and Dirk Inze (VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology, Ghent University) came to COS Heidelberg.

Next Bertaltanffy-Lecture for Students- June 18th 2024

For the upcoming Bertalanffy Lecture, which will take place on June 18 at 2:00 PM, we were able to secure Prof. Zachary Lippman, PhD, Jacob Goldfield Professor of Genetics and CSHL Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
